Search Engine Optimization

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of affecting the visibility of a website or a web page in a search engine's search results. SEO may target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, video search, academic search, news search and industry-specific vertical search engines.

An SEO expert with many years of experience will be able to look at any website and know exactly what needs to be done for it to gain more search engine traffic, while someone new at SEO will try the same things on every site, which will only have a limited effect, if any.

Why Do You Need SEO ?

There are three main reasons why you need search engine optimisation:
1. Increase rankings
“Google isn’t a search engine, Google is a reputation management system” Clive Thompson, Wired Magazine When surveyed the majority of people expect brands at the top of search engine results to be the leading brands on that chosen search term. It is therefore important to look across the entire broad range of search terms related to your business and build a plan for getting better visibility for the search terms that do not afford you that visibility.Despite the level of competition in search engine results there is always a sweet spot to aim for – a place where you are able to achieve good visibility for search terms that still have a good number of people searching on them but aren’t too competitive.

2. Increase traffic
“Short words are best and the old words when short are best of all.“ – Winston Churchill With the increase in visibility comes and increase in visitors. This traffic can come from core generic search terms, or more likely from a broader mid range of search terms that are more specific to your brand and your unique selling points.Of course you need to give your potential visitors a reason to visit your website and there are factors around how you do this that will impact on search engine optimisation.

3. Increase Conversions
“Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.” – Steve Jobs Once your visitors are on the site do they convert? Are they the right type of visitor? Have they found you because you have optimised your site for the right search terms? How long are they staying on the site for? Do they follow the right path through the site? Are there to many drop off points?Knowing how users interact with your brand on your website is crucial to success and again search engine optimization will impact on this.

SEO & SMO

Execution of Search Engine Optimization-SEO (on page and off page) on a continuous basis. & SMO(Search Media Optimization)

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of affecting the visibility of a website or a web page in a search engine's "natural" or un-paid ("organic") search results. The earlier (or higher ranked on the search results page), and more frequently a site appears in the search results list, the more visitors it will receive from the search engine's users.

Social media optimization (SMO) is the use of a number of social media outlets and communities to generate publicity to increase the awareness of a product, brand or event. Types of social media involved include RSS feeds, social news and bookmarking sites, as well as social networking sites, such as Twitter, and video and blogging sites.

On page SEO

On-Page SEO refers to how well your website’s content is presented to search engines. On page optimization involves ensuring whether a particular webpage is structured in a manner so that it gets found by the search engines for given keywords and key phrases. It not only helps in getting good search engine ranking but also increases overall readability of the site. The best part is that not much has changed about the on-page optimization approach. It can still be improved immediately by tweaking incorrect elements on a webpage.

Off page SEO

Off-Page SEO refers to your website’s overall “authority” on the web determined by what other websites say about your site. Off-page optimization is a long-term process and takes time to improve. Simply put, off page is all about your online reputation. Off page optimization includes acquiring backlinks to your page from the authority sites in your niche. Backlinks is the currency of any off-page strategy. And, unlike on-page optimization, off-page optimization efforts are not apparently visible on the webpage itself; it does the background work for a better search result.
